Class 2 Driver

Overview
Driver Support Services are seeking professional and reliable Class 2 Truck Drivers to join our client in Gatwick. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest standards of vehicle safety and compliance.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a focus on commercial driving.

Responsibilities

* Driving high-loader and catering vehicles airside

* Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules and optimize fuel consumption.

* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the vehicle and loading areas

* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any faults or maintenance needs.

* Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logbooks.

* Communicate effectively with flight crews and operations teams

* Adhere strictly to road safety regulations, company policies, and legal requirements at all times.

* Loading or unloading cargo when required, maintaining a high standard of safety.

* Rotating Shifts, 5 on 3 off

* Start times between 3.00am and 10.00am

Skills

* Proven experience in commercial driving.

* Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for safe driving.

* Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record.

* Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as securing cargo.

* Good organizational skills to plan routes efficiently and manage delivery schedules.

* Effective communication skills to liaise with clients and team members professionally.

* Experience in delivery driver roles is highly desirable, demonstrating reliability and punctuality.

* Flexibility to work shift as operations run seven days a week requirement.

* Physically fit and capable of working at heights, lift and/or push up to 25kg.

For this role we will need to run a DBS check, therefore a 5 years address and employment history is needed.
