Primary FunctionThe Clinical Director shall be responsible for the operation of the facility and therapy services, including personnel supervision, patient treatment and evaluation, clerical and housekeeping duties, and communication with patients, doctors, and administrators.
Responsibilities- Supervise clinical and office staff.
- Care for the physical plant and machinery related to the Therapy Department.
- Prepare and operate within an annual budget for personnel and equipment.
- Maintain records and standards as required by relevant professional associations.
- Interpret diagnoses and prescribe treatments to achieve maximum benefit and safety.
- Complete patient records related to physical medicine.
- Provide proper treatment and monitor patient safety during therapy.
- Perform other duties assigned by the President and Vice President.
- Must have requisites for licensure in the State of Alabama.
- Knowledge of physical medicine theory and machine operation and maintenance.
- Ability to apply modalities used in physical medicine with full knowledge of their effects.
- Adequate knowledge of Human Anatomy, Physiology, and treatment procedures.
- Basic knowledge of disease processes and physical therapy benefits.
- Full knowledge of sterile techniques and their modification.
- Familiarity with ENCORE REHABILITATION, INC. policies and procedures.
Work is medium. Duties include lifting and carrying equipment up to 50 lbs. alone or with help for more. Stooping, pushing, and pulling when moving patients or equipment. Reaching for, handling, and manipulating equipment and patients. Talking/hearing to convey instructions. Visual acuity required. Work is indoors.
Special Demands- Identify problems and propose interventions, organizing departmental activities.
- Evaluate personnel performance and implement changes.
- Motivate staff to achieve optimal performance.
- Coordinate multiple activities simultaneously.
- Communicate medical terminology, prepare reports, and understand statistics.
- Provide quality patient care and demonstrate professional dedication.
- Accept constructive criticism and perform self-evaluation.
- Work with all age groups from neonates to geriatrics.
Education:
B.S. in accredited program. M.S. desirable.
Experience:
Not required if education met; desirable.
License:
Must be licensed by the Board of Physical Therapy in applicable State.
- Directly supervise clinical and office staff.
- Monitor daily operational procedures and make changes as needed.
- Enforce facility policies and schedule departmental activities.
- Provide training programs for department personnel.
- Orient new employees, students, and volunteers.
- Interview, hire, and terminate clinic personnel.
- Coordinate clinical education activities with universities, assign students, and supervise instructors.
- Perform duties as a staff therapist.
