This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats, taking ownership of day-to-day business operations and being the person everyone can count on to get things done.
Our client has built a successful business with a longstanding team and a strong reputation. They are looking for a proactive, organized professional who can keep everyday operations running smoothly, solve problems independently and provide trusted support to company ownership.
The OpportunityThis is not a traditional accounting, HR or administrative position. It's a combination of office management, business operations, basic accounting and employee administration.
The right person will be comfortable switching gears throughout the day, whether that means resolving a vendor issue, coordinating employee benefits, handling banking transactions or taking ownership of an important operational project.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee day-to-day office administration and serve as a central resource for operational needs.
- Independently address employee, vendor and facilities issues, escalating matters to ownership when appropriate.
- Coordinate office vendors, service contracts, maintenance and special projects.
- Perform operational accounting functions using Quick Books, including AP posting, banking activity, ACH payments, wire transfers and credit card transactions.
- Assist with payroll administration and coordinate accounting activities with outside professionals as needed.
- Manage employee benefits administration, annual enrollment, PTO tracking and onboarding activities.
- Maintain employee records, administrative procedures and recurring compliance deadlines.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency and simplify everyday operations.
- Provide hands-on assistance across the organization when business needs require it.
- Prior experience in office management, business operations or a similar multifaceted administrative role.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Practical bookkeeping or operational accounting experience (AP, AR, Invoicing), ideally with Quick Books. Some exposure strongly preferred.
- Experience administering employee benefits, onboarding or related HR activities. Preferred, not required, willing to train.
- Confidence communicating with employees, vendors and company leadership.
- Excellent judgment, discretion and the ability to handle confidential information.
- A proactive, resourceful approach to identifying and solving problems.
- Comfortable working in a smaller business environment where flexibility and teamwork are essential.
- Attitude is key - this role requires a 'doer' who is hands on, willing to jump in where needed and has the understanding and attitude that in a small business environment, no job is too small or unimportant. No 'not in my job description' types - will not be a good fit.
Formal HR credentials or an advanced accounting background are not required.
Why Consider This Opportunity?- Join a stable, successful and established privately held business.
- Enjoy a broad, interesting role with variety and meaningful responsibility.
- Work directly with experienced, accessible company ownership.
- Have the autonomy to solve problems, improve processes and make a tangible impact.
- Be part of a close-knit team with exceptional employee longevity.
- Competitive compensation of $70, plus merit-based performance bonus.
We're looking for a dependable, solutions-oriented Operational/Administrative professional who takes pride in keeping a business running smoothly. Someone who sees a problem, takes initiative and follows through - with no task considered too small when it comes to helping the team succeed.
