The Mobile Integrated Healthcare Technician program reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, adheres to the Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards.
The Technician provides patient care within their defined scope of practice, including patient care, monitoring, in‑home assessments, clinical and social screenings, clinical interventions, patient education, and participation in telehealth visits from the patient's home while connecting with the physician or designee via telehealth.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with APP and care team to provide direct in‑home patient care activities including clinical assessment, vital sign measurement, patient assistance, and telehealth visit participation.
- Coordinate and maintain equipment and supplies.
- Document assessments, interventions, and other pertinent patient information promptly.
- Identify, report, and document patient problems in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and technical staff.
- Assist patients’ mobility safely, using transport devices appropriately.
- Assist physicians, nurses, and technical staff in providing patient education with appropriate materials.
- Interact with patients, families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary personnel; demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, willingness for collaboration, and clinical proficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- American Heart Association BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Active Illinois EMT‑P certification
- Active Southern Fox Valley EMS system entry with good standing
- Valid driver’s license and annual driving abstract at hire and annually
- PALS certification
Community paramedic certification encouraged within 24 months of employment
