Rehab Services Tech – Part‑time (Days)
Join Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital as a Rehab Services Technician. This role supports the Rehabilitation Services Department by providing non‑licensed patient care, clerical support, and equipment maintenance.
Salary range: $17.00 – $20.40 per hour. Placement depends on experience and internal equity guidelines. Union employees will follow collective bargaining agreements.

This non‑licensed staff member assists professional staff with patient care that does not require clinical decision‑making, helps the business office with clerical duties, and performs selected tasks related to the operation of the Rehabilitation Services Department.
Responsibilities- Follow standard precautions and Northwestern Medicine infection control policies.
- Operate and maintain equipment safely, clean equipment, and keep accurate logs.
- Perform monthly maintenance and ensure equipment meets JCAHO standards.
- Assist patients under direct clinical supervision, anticipating therapist needs.
- Communicate promptly to the therapist any observed changes in patient status.
- Engage patients and families in care planning, providing explanations within scope of practice.
- Consult other departments for interdisciplinary patient needs.
- Document treatment accurately in accordance with policy.
- Greet patients and verify identity and visit details.
- Provide timely updates to patients and customers.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient visits at Rehabilitation Services and satellite locations.
- Additional responsibilities may include:
- Obtain patient consents and authorizations.
- Manage the department’s Rehabilitation Services call list and communications.
- Accurately identify patient medical record numbers, update demographic, insurance, and billing information.
- Collect copayments, past‑due balances, and point‑of‑service payments.
- Post payments, process billing information, and perform end‑of‑day cash drawer closing.
- Fax documentation to insurance companies or physician offices for authorization and signatures.
- Maintain clinic inventory.
- Required: High School Diploma.
- Required: BLS Certified within 90 days of hire.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree.
- Preferred: Previous experience in a healthcare setting.
- Preferred: Working knowledge of medical terminology.
- Preferred: Bilingual.
