Float Registered Nurse – Delnor Resource Team (Full Time, Nights)
Join Northwestern Medicine as a full‑time night floating RN on the Delnor Resource Team. This role offers a competitive sign‑on bonus of $3,000 paid in three equal installments over the first year of employment for candidates with 1+ years of RN experience.
Job DescriptionThe schedule consists of three 12‑hour shifts per week, 7 p.m. – 7:30 a.m., with every third weekend (Friday and Saturday nights) and rotating holidays required.
The registered nurse is an integral part of the inpatient team, upholding NM’s mission, vision, values, and Code of Ethics. The position requires adherence to all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities- Prescribe, delegate, and coordinate nursing care to acutely ill patients through the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, evaluation).
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members while maintaining ANA standards of professional nursing practice.
- Collect and analyze data, identify expected outcomes, and implement individualized care plans, coordinating care delivery and evaluating progress.
- Determine appropriate utilization of assistants involved in direct patient care.
- Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and ancillary staff; document care plans focused on outcomes and decisions.
- Participate in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions in the health record and individualize the plan of care based on evaluation of findings.
- Utilize best available evidence, including research, to guide practice decisions.
Required:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) with commitment to obtain a BSN within three years of employment.
- Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and analytic skills.
Preferred:
- Experience in acute care nursing.
