Maintenance Mechanic

Our client, In Geneva, NY is seeking a skilled  
** MFG*
* ** Maintenance Mechanic
** to join their 3rd shift team. As a maintenance mechanic you will repair, maintain and support equipment on their packaging lines to maximize productivity and quality including changeovers, set-ups, installation, and adjustments.

* ** What's the Job?*
* + Diagnose, repair, and maintain all packaging and support equipment to optimize efficiency and quality

+ Conducts line changeovers and makes necessary set-up and adjustments as required by the production schedule

+ Perform line alteration, rebuilding as necessary

+ Utilize data from both CMMS and MES to analyse and solve both routine and complex electrical and mechanical problems of processing, packaging, and auxiliary equipment

+ Perform established Preventative Maintenance. Identify and correct mechanical/electrical maintenance issues found during PM process

+ Assist Engineering on equipment installations

+ Repair and fabricate parts as required.

+ Assist and train team members in simple adjustments and maintenance

+ Operate forklift trucks as required to move equipment or materials.

+ Other duties as assigned

** What's Needed?*
* +  
** 7-plus years' mechanic experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment*
* + Advanced skills and knowledge of the repair and maintenance of electro-mechanical equipment, electric motors, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, conveyor systems, PLC's, bearings, shafts, production machines and liquid filling equipment

+ Ability to troubleshoot machine downtime events and utilizing root cause analysis techniques to identify and resolve issues at their source

+ High school diploma or equivalent

+ Vocational training Completion of a mechanical or electrical apprenticeship

+ Ability to read blueprints, possess advanced mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills and production maintenance work experience
