A long-established and reputable boutique international fiduciary firm based in Geneva. Serving primarily expatriate corporate and private clients, the firm provides services including payroll, accounting, trusts, corporate advisory, and personal taxation. You will join a close-knit, busy, and collaborative team in centrally located Geneva (Rive Droite – within a 15 minute walking distance to Gare Cornavin), offering strong exposure to Swiss accounting and payroll matters within an international client base.

For this fiduciary, we are seeking a Payroll Accountant to handle payroll-related accounting entries, including processing and posting for multiple client companies, such as one multinational client with approximately 250 employees per month. You will also be responsible for reconciliations, reporting, and some generalist accounting tasks such as tax declarations and filings. This role is part of the accounting and fiduciary team, working closely with the two Chief Accountants and the CFO.
The position is part-time to full-time (60–80%), with flexibility depending on experience and seniority, and is fully office-based in Geneva (generally no home office). You will join a collegial, close-knit team in a friendly and collaborative working environment.
- Post payroll-related accounting entries into the accounting system accurately and on time
- Reconcile payroll accounts and ensure alignment with general ledger
- Prepare journal entries for salaries, bonuses, deductions, and social contributions
- Support payroll processing by verifying postings and liaising with the payroll specialist
- Prepare payroll reports and summaries for internal and client use
- Assist with financial statement preparation related to payroll (income statement, balance sheet)
- Coordinate with internal teams and external auditors during payroll audits
- Monitor payroll accounts for discrepancies and resolve issues promptly
- Ensure compliance with Swiss accounting standards (Swiss Code of Obligations)
- Support broader accounting tasks, including VAT returns, invoicing, and payments, as required
- 3–5 years++ of experience in accounting, ideally in a fiduciary or corporate environment
- Strong understanding of Swiss accounting standards (Swiss Code of Obligations)
- Proven experience with payroll accounting entries, reconciliations, and reporting
- Comfortable collaborating with operational payroll teams and clients
- Experience with Abacus accounting a must + other payroll systems such as GIT
- Excellent attention to detail, reliability, and organizational skills
- Fluent in English and French (B2 or above)
- Based in the Geneva area (frontaliers acceptable) with valid Swiss work authorization
