WIPO Internship Roster 2026
The WIPO Internship Roster 2026 offers an excellent opportunity for students and graduates worldwide to gain professional experience in an international environment. Hosted by the World Intellectual Property Organization, this internship program is based in Switzerland and invites applications for various departments throughout 2026.
Unlike a single‑position internship, this roster allows candidates to apply once and be considered for multiple internship opportunities as they arise during the year. The program supports WIPO’s mission to promote innovation and creativity through an effective global intellectual property system, while providing interns with hands‑on experience in a dynamic, multicultural workplace.
- Host Organization: World Intellectual Property Organization
- Duty Station: Geneva (Headquarters) and WIPO External Offices
- Internship Duration: 8 weeks to 12 months
Category I Internship:
- Eligibility: Bachelor’s students (3rd or 4th year)
- Recent graduates (within 2 years)
- Master’s students (coursework not completed)
- Duration: 2 to 6 months
- Stipend: 1,645 CHF/month (including transport allowance)
Category II Internship:
- Eligibility: Master’s/PhD students (coursework completed)
- Recent advanced degree holders (within 2 years)
- Individuals pursuing further postgraduate studies
- Duration: 2 to 12 months
- Stipend: 2,170 CHF/month (including transport allowance)

For internships at WIPO external offices, stipends may vary based on local conditions.

- Must be enrolled in or recently graduated from a university program
- Bachelor’s students must be in the 3rd or 4th year
- Graduates must apply within 2 years of completing their degree
- Strong academic background
- Proficiency in English and/or French
- Additional UN languages (Arabic, Chinese, Spanish, etc.) are an advantage
- Good analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools
- Updated CV
- Academic information and supporting details (as required in the application)
- Assist in departmental projects and daily operations
- Conduct research and data analysis
- Support seminars, conferences, and administrative tasks
- Prepare reports and documentation
- Collaborate with international teams
