Swiss Public Affairs Coordinator

Why we are recruiting

The World Economic Forum’s Swiss Public Affairs Team manages the Forum’s interaction with Switzerland and is responsible for securing a trusted relationship with its host country via government engagement (integrating its projects and activities at federal, cantonal, and communal level) and the public. The team is now looking for a Swiss Public Affairs Coordinator to support its work in the scope of (but not limited to) Swiss government relations and act as interface with other parts of the house.

Tasks include supporting the team on year‑round projects and events, ensuring effective interactions with internal and external stakeholders, and managing processes and logistics of the team.

Reporting Lines & Interactions

The Swiss Public Affairs Coordinator reports to the Head of Swiss Public Affairs and interacts with the Swiss Public Affairs Lead, Swiss Public Affairs Specialist, and the President & CEO.

Breakdown Of Main Responsibilities
  • 50% Coordination and admin support
  • 30% Project management
  • 20% Events planning and logistics
Key Responsibilities (Assessment Criteria)
  • Providing project management and coordination support based on team requirements – including arranging conference calls and meetings, taking minutes, drafting letters, and acting as a liaison with other teams within the Forum as well as external consultants, suppliers and/or constituents.
  • Managing event planning and logistics for the team, i.e. the Annual Meeting.
  • Actively seeking and supporting linkages between activities of the Swiss Public Affairs Team, other relevant Forum teams/projects and external stakeholders, based on the Agreement to be renewed with Switzerland.
  • Contributing to developing and implementing the new strategy of the team, internally and externally, on deepening engagement with Switzerland and the communication around it, i.e. Swiss parliamentarians and Davos.
  • Working to develop efficient team‑related processes, supporting preparation of briefing documents/PPTs and keeping important team documents and internal platforms up to date.
  • Supporting monitoring of Swiss politics and Swiss media as well as the Forum’s Editorial Unit.
Specific Tasks
  • Coordination and support of meetings or visits with Swiss Government Officials, Swiss Parliamentarians, partners within the Swiss Federal Administration, Global Shapers, activists and university/school students.
  • Logistical support for the Annual Meeting and any other Forum events during the year.
  • Manage logistics for the team (travel arrangements, invoices and expenses) and facilitate collaboration within the team.
  • Organization of public events.
  • Swiss politics monitoring.
  • Mapping of existing initiatives and future collaboration opportunities.
  • Internal coordination and follow‑up with thematic Forum teams.
  • Production of communication materials.
  • Meeting preparation for Swiss delegations in Switzerland and around the world.
Preferred Requirements And Experience
  • University‑level education.
  • One‑to‑two years’ work experience in project management/coordination, event management or administration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, fluency in spoken and written English; mother tongue Swiss German and/or German; any other Swiss national language is a plus.
  • Able to work with high‑level government and business leaders, leading issue experts in academia, international organizations, NGOs, and representatives from grassroots organizations.
  • Proficient in MS Office; experience with digital platforms and tools.
  • Detail‑oriented, strong organizational, interpersonal and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, understanding stakeholder needs and being a committed, collaborative, optimistic and solution‑oriented team player.
  • Analytical capabilities; data‑savvy.
