Organizational context:
The International Trade Centre (ITC), through its Ethical Fashion Initiative (EFI), supports micro-entrepreneurs in developing countries. This role supports the Wool and Mohair Value Chain Competitiveness Project (WaMCoP) in Lesotho, aiming to enhance the sub-sector's climate resilience and market benefits, focusing on small producers and enterprises.

Job purpose:

The Project Assistant Consultant will facilitate the implementation of the Wool and Mohair Value Chain Competitiveness Project (WaMCoP) in Lesotho. This involves providing comprehensive support for project activities, including roadshows, bootcamps, incubation, and acceleration programs. The role requires close collaboration with the National Project Coordinator and EFI technical advisors to ensure smooth execution of training, communication, and enterprise development initiatives. The consultant will manage participant registration, maintain records, support training delivery, and assist in collecting communication materials and beneficiary information, contributing to the project's overall success in developing artisanal skills and market linkages.

Responsibilities:

Provide project implementation support for roadshows, bootcamps, incubation, and acceleration programs, including participant registration, mobilization, training logistics, and follow-up. Maintain and update comprehensive participant and program records, such as profiles, contact lists, attendance, and monitoring documentation. Deliver communications and visibility support by collecting and organizing photographs, videos, testimonials, and beneficiary stories, adhering to ITC branding and consent requirements. Prepare basic communication materials like social media content and flyers using approved templates.

Support roadshow communications and outreach, including registration, content collection, participant engagement, and documentation of activations. Document training and enterprise development activities, including participant communication, attendance, assessments, and follow-up actions. Produce regular activity documentation and implementation updates for project monitoring and reporting. Compile beneficiary and enterprise information for project monitoring. Provide logistical, administrative, and coordination support for project meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagements.

Education:

An undergraduate degree (BA/BSc or equivalent) in sustainable trade, community development, or a related field is required. Extensive relevant experience may substitute for a university degree.

Work experience:

Requires experience with social enterprises, micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, and community groups. Experience working in Lesotho's wool/mohair value chains or artisanal sectors is preferred. Experience in carrying out surveys and assessments, including ESG, is also desirable.

Skills:

Strong analytical skills, proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, excellent interpersonal, presentation, written, and oral communication skills, ability to work independently, and knowledge of ESG frameworks.
