Main Purpose of the RoleProvide specialised academic support to students enrolled in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. The role focuses on guiding students through the rigorous IB curriculum by developing effective study strategies, critical thinking, problem-solving, and self-reflection skills. Tutoring may be delivered one-on-one or in small groups, covering general study habits and specific subject areas to enhance academic performance and confidence.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver personalized tutoring in general skills, effective study skills and, ideally, specific IB subjects (English and others).
- Assess student strengths and challenges; create tailored learning plans.
- Monitor progress and adjust strategies based on performance and feedback.
- Support students with organisation, study skills, test preparation, and homework.
- Maintains timely communication with students’ academic teachers to define learning strategies and ensure personalized follow-up.
- Actively uses the school platform to monitor students’ academic performance, KPIs, and curriculum progress.
- Regularly debriefs with the reporting line to ensure consistent updates on students and operational needs, while receiving direction on targets and priorities.
- Proven experience as a tutor or in a similar educational role.
- Strong knowledge and experience with the IB programme.
- Ability to personalise learning approaches and adapt to different learning styles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to motivate and engage students.
- Ability to convey complex concepts clearly, accurately, and concisely.
- Flexibility and understanding of effective teaching strategies.
- Proficiency in relevant software/tools.
- Preferred:
Degree in education, subject taught, or related field.
