As a Mechanical Technician in the Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS) Vacuum Team, you will play an important role in ensuring the quality, installation, and operation of vacuum components in CERN's accelerator complex.
Your main responsibilities will include:- Carrying out the mechanical assembly of vacuum components and sub-assemblies, including leak detection and quality control prior to installation.
- Taking part in the installation of vacuum components in the SPS tunnel, including pumpdown, leak detection, and commissioning activities.
- Supporting the organisation of logistics and procurement for vacuum chambers and related equipment.
- Documenting acceptance tests and interventions to ensure accurate traceability and reporting.
- By the Final date to receive applications, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Mechanical or Electromechanical Technology (or a related field)
and your highest educational qualification is a general secondary education diploma
. - You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
