We are an ambitious European space-tech company developing next-generation spacecraft focused on in-space mobility and orbital transportation. As part of an upcoming mission programme, we are looking for an experienced RF & Telecommunications Engineer to lead the development, integration, and qualification of the spacecraft telecom subsystem.
This is an opportunity to join a highly technical team working on cutting-edge spacecraft systems in a fast-paced startup environment.
Responsibilities- Own the spacecraft RF and telecommunications subsystem from architecture through qualification
- Define and maintain RF link budgets across all mission phases
- Develop subsystem requirements, specifications, and interface documentation
- Lead integration and verification activities including RF testing, EMC/EMI, and environmental campaigns
- Coordinate suppliers for RF hardware including transceivers, antennas, RF chains, and harnessing
- Work closely with AIT, systems, avionics, and mission operations teams
- Support ground segment integration and end-to-end communications readiness
- Troubleshoot RF and telecom issues during integration and testing
- Degree in Telecommunications, RF/Microwave Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in RF or telecommunications engineering
- Strong experience developing RF link budgets and spacecraft telecom architectures
- Hands-on experience with RF integration and lab testing equipment (VNA, spectrum analysers, signal generators, power meters)
- Experience integrating RF hardware and managing technical suppliers
- Familiarity with EMC/EMI, environmental qualification, and spacecraft integration constraints
- Experience with tools such as MATLAB, Python, ADS, CST/HFSS, or Spice is advantageous
- Previous spacecraft, aerospace, or high-reliability systems experience preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to operate effectively in a startup environment
