Technician for Industrial Cooling, Ventilation & Refrigeration (EN-CV-PSM--LD) Overview

At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers probe the fundamental structure of the universe. The Cooling and Ventilation group designs, builds, operates and maintains cooling and ventilation plants for large energy physics accelerators, experiments and technical facilities.

You will join the PSM Section, responsible for the operation and maintenance of CERN’s accelerator complex and experimental areas. Activities include supervision for installation, commissioning, upgrades and consolidation of systems.

• Plan, coordinate, supervise, check and perform preventive and corrective maintenance using the CMMS system.
• Operate cooling, ventilation and refrigeration systems to ensure appropriate running.
• Maintain regular liaison with clients for equipment matters.
• Propose and define solutions for modifications or renovation works.
• Technically coordinate contractors for maintenance and installation work complying with contractual clauses and technical standards.
• Contribute to projects from design to test and commissioning of new cooling and ventilation systems.
• Maintain up-to-date technical documentation in compliance with quality standards.
• Ensure safety rules are respected for all interventions.
• Report progress, schedule and costs regularly.

Higher technical diploma or equivalent in Refrigeration, Electromechanics or related field. Having the fluid handling permit, or equivalent, is considered an advantage.

• Maintenance, operation and installation of cooling, ventilation and industrial systems.

Spoken and written English is required; commitment to learning French is preferred.

• Contract type:
  Limited duration contract (5 years), subject to conditions.
