Position: Electronics Technician (TE-MPE-IQ-2026-118-GRAE)

Job Description

You will contribute to the production and maintenance of electronics for the quench detection system. This includes component ordering, production preparation, soldering and interventions on our installations. This is a great opportunity to learn on the job.

Your responsibilities:

  • Prepare production of electronics prototypes.
  • Purchasing of electronics components.
  • Installation of electronics in test benches and racks.
  • Soldering/assembly work on prototypes.

Your profile:

  • Experience with electronics assembly.
  • Experience with soldering (Hand soldering and/or reflow) would be an asset.

Skills:

  • Knowledge about electronics components
  • Mechanics assembly skills for crates
  • Spoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French.
  • You have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Electronics technician (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is a general secondary education diploma.
  • You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
  • Applicants with a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree are not eligible.
Additional Information

Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.

Working hours:

40 hours per week

Job flexibility:
Fully Onsite

This position involves:

  • Work in Radiation Areas.
  • Interventions in underground installations.
  • A valid driving licence.
  • Exposure to electromagnetic fields under certain exposure conditions.

Given the occupational health risks associated with this position, the selected candidate must obtain medical clearance before a contract offer is confirmed.
