Job DescriptionYou will contribute to the production and maintenance of electronics for the quench detection system. This includes component ordering, production preparation, soldering and interventions on our installations. This is a great opportunity to learn on the job.
Your responsibilities:
- Prepare production of electronics prototypes.
- Purchasing of electronics components.
- Installation of electronics in test benches and racks.
- Soldering/assembly work on prototypes.
Your profile:
- Experience with electronics assembly.
- Experience with soldering (Hand soldering and/or reflow) would be an asset.
Skills:
- Knowledge about electronics components
- Mechanics assembly skills for crates
- Spoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French.
- You have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Electronics technician (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is a general secondary education diploma.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
- Applicants with a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree are not eligible.
Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.
Working hours:
40 hours per week
Job flexibility:
Fully Onsite
This position involves:
- Work in Radiation Areas.
- Interventions in underground installations.
- A valid driving licence.
- Exposure to electromagnetic fields under certain exposure conditions.
Given the occupational health risks associated with this position, the selected candidate must obtain medical clearance before a contract offer is confirmed.
