Process Engineer, Chemical Engineering, Electronics Engineer
At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature.
IntroductionYou will join a multidisciplinary team developing the next generation of high-performance superconducting radio frequency (SRF) cavities. In this role, after dedicated training in the team, you will develop and optimise advanced surface treatments essential to their performance, including chemical polishing, electrochemical polishing and electroplating. You will also contribute to the design, procurement, commissioning, and acceptance of a new surface treatment facility dedicated to SRF components.
Functions- Develop, operate and optimise chemical and electrochemical surface-processing techniques for SRF accelerating cavities and their subassemblies.
