Senior Consultant - Advisory Services - Tax Mobility

The opportunity

In Mobility, we help our clients manage the complex compliance, reporting, and risks inherent in deploying a globally mobile workforce. As part of the global team, this group benefits from strategic investment in several of its businesses and forecasts significant growth in the short to medium term.

As a Senior Consultant, you will contribute to and lead special advisory projects (such as business traveler, equity-based compensation advice, mobility technology, etc.) while ensuring technical excellence and a practical, business-driven approach.

Your key responsibilities

• Independently prepare and review Swiss tax returns for employees of international client companies, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations and optimizing tax positions.
• Provide day-to-day tax and mobility support, including advising on tax implications of international assignments, cross-border tax planning, and expatriate tax issues.
• Lead and support client projects by conducting detailed tax briefings, performing in-depth tax research, and preparing comprehensive reports.
• Act as the primary liaison with tax authorities, managing communications and negotiations to resolve tax issues and ensure compliance.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with global EY member firms to ensure seamless service delivery and alignment on international tax matters.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients through regular interactions, understanding their needs, and providing tailored tax advice and solutions.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering strategic insights and recommendations to optimize their tax positions and support business objectives.
• Facilitate client meetings, presentations, and workshops to discuss tax strategies, updates, and project progress, ensuring satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships.

Skills and attributes for success

• A recognized diploma in Law, Economics, or equivalent, with a good understanding of international mobility topics.
• 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while maintaining high efficiency.
• High flexibility, ability to adapt to changing client and stakeholder needs, and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Keen attention to detail, ensuring work is completed with high quality and accuracy, adhering to professional standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French.
• Proactive team player with effective collaboration skills with colleagues and clients.
