We are current looking for an Investment Advisor to join QNB in Geneva to serve an international client base, with tailored wealth management and investment solutions. The Investment Advisor will combine client advisory responsibilities with active involvement in discretionary portfolio management.
The Investment Advisor will act as a trusted partner to RMs and clients, delivering high-quality investment advice while also contributing to the management of discretionary portfolios. The role offers a balanced exposure between Investment Advisory (85%) and Discretionary Portfolio Management (15%)
Duties and Responsibilities:Investment Advisory (approx. 85%)
- Provide investment advice to private banking clients across asset classes (Equities, Fixed Income, Funds…).
- Support Relationship Managers in portfolio construction, asset allocation, and investment proposals.
- Monitor client portfolios and proactively recommend rebalancing and tactical adjustments.
- Prepare and present investment ideas, market views, and portfolio reviews to clients.
- Ensure suitability, risk alignment, and full compliance with regulatory and internal guidelines.
- Provide input to the Private Banking team in developing and implementing investments strategies and plans to achieve all volume, revenue, and profit targets.
- Operate within trading limits and risk parameters.
- Achieve targets set within defined trading size, spread, time and quantity.
- Introduction of new market and products on the desk subject to internal and regulatory approvals.
- Responsive to the needs of the Private Banking team and customer’s investments.
- Acting as point of contact for all investments services needs/queries pertaining to HNW customers.
- Conduct regular meetings/conference calls with customers and Private Banking team about investment strategy.
- Perform customised client reviews and conduct portfolio construction and rebalancing.
- Deliver personalised asset allocation recommendations.
- Advise on alternative asset classes: private equity, hedge funds strategies and real estate.
- Execution of Securities (Equities, Fixed Income etc) on behalf of clients in global markets when necessary to support the desk.
- Advance knowledge in pricing, structuring & executing of structured products and derivatives including options.
- Actively manage discretionary mandates in line with agreed investment strategies and risk profiles.
- Monitor portfolio performance, risk metrics, and investment constraints.
- Participate in investment committees and contribute to house views and strategy discussions.
- Support the continuous improvement of portfolio management processes and tools.
Qualifications:
- University degree at Masters level in business or finance. CFA and/or CAIA desirable.
- At least 7 years’ professional experience in an Investments department / DPM Function of a Swiss private bank, actively advising UHNWi/HNWi.
- Strong computer skills (highly proficient in Excel).
- Sound knowledge and experience in portfolio analysis, asset management and investment advisory.
- Strong command of data analytics tool and a strong interest and understanding of financial markets.
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, ability to listen, guide and advise external and also internal partners.
- Knowledge and experience in the use of Avaloq required.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to question status-quo and deliver facts-based conclusions.
- Concise, direct communication while under pressure, and active knowledge-sharing.
- Business and problem-solving skills. Agile and flexible.
- Excellent team player with high spirit of motivation and commitment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English. Arabic is an asset.
- Good common sense, curious, flexible and highly motivated personality.
- Ability to work autonomously and as a good team player, with a “can do” attitude.
