Operations Officer – Middle Office Cash & Payments; Private Banking

Overview

For our client, a leading international private bank based in Geneva, we are seeking an Operations Officer (CWR) to join the Middle Office Cash & Payments team. This role sits at the heart of the bank’s cash lifecycle and operational control framework, ensuring the smooth processing, reconciliation and investigation of cash movements while maintaining high regulatory and risk standards.

• Process, release and investigate domestic and international payments
• Monitor and troubleshoot the end-to-end cash transfer lifecycle (bank-to-bank and commercial payments)
• Perform cash and nostro account reconciliations and resolve breaks
• Substantiate and certify balance sheet accounts as part of monthly closings
• Perform first-level sanction screening and escalate where required
• Oversee near shored payment and reconciliation activities
• Actively contribute to projects, system enhancements and UAT testing
• Apply internal policies, regulatory requirements and SLAs across all activities
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders (Compliance, AML, Technology, Front Office, Product, Finance)

• Proven experience in Middle Office / Payments / Cash Operations / Reconciliation within a bank or financial institution
• Solid knowledge of payments, cash management, SWIFT, nostro accounts and balance sheet controls
• Experience working with Avaloq is a strong advantage
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict cut-off times
• Excellent communication skills in English (additional languages are an asset)
• High level of integrity, reliability and attention to detail
