What You’ll Do and Who You Are
Your training will teach you everything you need to know, but we also look for people who bring these qualities and skills to the role:
- Honest, energetic, and approachable, able to communicate easily with people at all levels.
- Constantly ready with a smile and proud of your work.
- Cope well under pressure and thrive on a challenge.
- Comfortable with getting a little dirty: assisting with eating, personal hygiene, light housekeeping, laundry, and other household chores.
- Able to prepare meals; you don’t have to be a gourmet chef, but you can cook a good meal and work around a kitchen.
- Assist clients in many ways: medication reminders, prescribed range‑of‑motion exercises, dementia care, companionship activities (reading, music, puzzles), etc.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have reliable consistent transportation, a valid driver’s license, and current automobile insurance.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to pass a full employment background check.
- Travel within the service area during employee’s hours of availability.
- Strong preference: fully vaccinated for Covid‑19 or one dose with a second dose scheduled, or willing to receive the first dose before starting work.
- Nice to have:
- CNA or HHA license.
- 6‑month experience as a caregiver in a healthcare setting.
- FTE Flex Perks for FTEs (30+ hours per week) – up to $80 per week.
