The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the United Nations system’s designated entity for addressing environmental issues at the global and regional level. Its mandate is to coordinate the development of environmental policy consensus by keeping the global environment under review and bringing emerging issues to the attention of governments and the international community for action. The Green Growth Knowledge Partnership (GGKP) is a global community of policy, business, and finance professionals and organisations committed to collaboratively generating, managing, and sharing knowledge on the transition to an inclusive green economy.

Led by UNEP, the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and the World Bank, GGKP’s mission is to empower government decision makers, companies and financial institutions with evidence‑based knowledge to support the green economy transition. GGKP provides best‑practice knowledge management services through its three core platforms: the Green Policy Platform, the Green Industry Platform, and the Green Finance Platform.

A Website Design and User Experience consultant (retainer‑based) is sought to assist in developing functional mockups for an integrated digital platform that will serve as a definitive reference hub for green and circular economy knowledge. This platform will consolidate the three existing specialized platforms into a single, intelligent ecosystem serving diverse stakeholder groups, including policy advisers, technical experts, portfolio managers, business representatives, and general audiences.

It will feature AI‑powered personalization, multi‑dimensional navigation, interactive AI agents and bots, and specialized hubs (Country Hubs, Sectoral Hubs, and Industry Support Hubs) that provide tailored content experiences based on user profiles and needs. The platform will behave as a fully‑fledged Web App, mobile‑first, to guarantee a smooth UX across any device.

• Supply web page and web application layouts, UI elements, UX designs, and graphic components on Figma.
• Based on GGKP KM team comments integrate edits and supply final web and web application layouts on Figma.
• Hands‑on contribution on the development of the functional frontend based on the supplied web page and web application layout, for example by integrating knowledge, datasets, AI elements into the demo demonstration.
• Any other related activities in this context.

• A bachelor’s degree in graphic design, website design, UX design, or a related field.
• Experience designing complex, multi‑user platforms and applications with personalized content delivery.
• Web development proficiency:
  Experience with developing web‑page and app layouts, including UI element design, UX design principles, functional prototyping, responsive and mobile design optimization.
• Advanced proficiency in Figma, including component creation, auto‑layout functionality, interactive prototyping, and design system development.
• Knowledge of frontend frameworks such as React, Next.js, or equivalent component‑based architecture.
• Understanding of frontend‑backend API‑based architectures and data flow.
• Familiarity with designing mockups for knowledge‑management system applications is an advantage.
• Provide two examples of past work on website layout and UX/UI as supporting documentation.

• Fluency in oral and written English is required.
• Knowledge of French is required.
• Knowledge of another United Nations language is an advantage.
