SAP R2R (Record to Report) Architect/Stream Leader
We are searching for an experienced SAP R2R (Record to Report) Architect/Stream Leader at our MSC Geneva facility.
Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesFor the SAP Department’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) team located at the MSC headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, we are looking for a permanent position of a SAP R2R Architect who will be responsible for the analysis, design, configuration, and support of the SAP FICO solution to meet the business requirements for the MSC Cruises division. This role requires analytical skills, business knowledge, and SAP solution expertise in the Finance & Controlling modules and integration with other SAP modules, to effectively deliver, maintain, troubleshoot and enhance the SAP functionality to achieve the expected business results.
Responsibilities- Design the end-to‑end Record‑to‑Report (SAP FI/CO) processes and system integrations in collaboration with the Finance Business Process Owner.
- Collaborate with the business stakeholders (Accounting, Controlling and Tax department) to understand business needs and translate them to system solutions.
- Ensure new solutions are sustainable, scalable, and aligned with the existing application landscape.
- Be accountable for the overall consistency, reliability, and integrity of the solution across related streams (Order‑to‑Cash, Procure‑to‑Pay, Treasury) and legacy systems.
- Coordinate Business Analysts based in Naples across all project deliverables: business requirements gathering and blueprinting; solution design and proof of concept; system configuration; functional specifications for developments and enhancements; incident management; testing activities (unit, integration, scenario, non‑regression, and coordination of user acceptance testing); training and documentation.
- Assess, challenge, prioritize, or reject requests for new solutions in alignment with business stakeholders and other solution architects.
- Design and maintain SAP solutions according to standard SAP best practices and Global Template principles whenever possible.
- Define delivery timelines with development teams and manage/approve production releases through the weekly Change Advisory Board (CAB).
- Collaborate with Project Managers to define and monitor project timelines and resource allocation (e.g., Business Analysts).
- Develop and maintain the application and system roadmap.
- Support functional teams in AMS and operational support activities: support Business Analysts in managing Service Requests and Incidents; approve and coordinate production releases; document changes, testing activities, and system configurations related to incidents and service requests; troubleshoot, investigate, analyze, and resolve issues, assessing the impact of changes on regression, integration, cutover, and data migration activities; ensure compliance with established procedures for incident and service request management;
perform daily monitoring of business processes and system operations.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in SAP projects, implementation/rollouts, and support. S/4
HANA implementation is a must have. - Functional experience in the design, configuration, and testing of FICO, specifically in sub‑modules: GL, AP, AR, AA, CO, master data, and all related daily and periodic processes and reporting.
- Strong motivation for Business Process Improvement with SAP Solution Manager, including Business Process Analytics, Business Process Monitoring, Dashboard Reports, etc.
- Knowledge and experience in areas such as BRIM, MM, roles & authorizations, interfaces (AIF), workflow considered an added advantage.
- Educational qualification:
University Degree (preferably in Finance/Accounting). - Strong organizational skills, ability to multi‑task, and work under strict deadlines.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills to work in a multi‑cultural and multi‑location environment.
- Analytically minded with methodical problem‑solving capabilities.
- Ability to efficiently prioritize work, promptly deliver solutions, and coordinate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in cruise / shipping / hospitality industry is a plus.
- Strong written and communication skills in English.
