Tech Scout Intern — Innovation Lab

TILT (Total Energies Innovation Lab for Trading) is looking to hire an intern to support Total Energies’ innovation ambitions and growth, contributing to the identification and development of innovative solutions across trading activities.

Total Energies has developed strong expertise in electricity, natural gas, oil, and biofuels trading. Our trading entities are based in Geneva, Paris, Houston, and Singapore.

Total Energies has established its European trading hub in Geneva, bringing together large teams across Total Energies Trading & Shipping (T&S) and Total Energies Gas and Power (TGP).

The Trading Branches of Total Energies (TGP and T&S) have established a dedicated Innovation Lab focused on fostering an innovation mindset and accelerating initiatives across the trading sector.

The lab focuses on digital transformation, process improvement, and transversal collaboration.

As part of TILT, you will collaborate with a wide range of internal stakeholders across trading entities (TGP and T&S), gaining exposure to cross-entity challenges and innovation opportunities. You will also interact with the broader innovation ecosystem, including startups, technology providers, and academic partners.

You will contribute to:

• advancing innovation projects,
• scouting emerging technologies,
• promoting innovation through events (talks, workshops, and courses).

In this context, you will play a key role in strengthening the lab’s technology scouting service and supporting the evolution of its offering.

• Conduct technology scouting and benchmarking for targeted use cases
• Develop and maintain a Technology Radar to track emerging technologies
• Support the development and testing of prototypes (including no-/low-code tools)
• Engage with startups, technology firms, and academic institutions
• Communicate insights through clear reports and presentations to business and technical stakeholders
• Support project framing and problem definition
• Assist in workshop preparation and facilitation

• Contribute to internal communication (web content, presentations, events)
• Support the preparation of workshops, talks, and training sessions
• Assist in the day-to-day activities of the Innovation Lab

• Currently pursuing a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Business Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Innovation, or a related field
• Strong interest in emerging technologies and digital innovation
• Analytical mindset with the ability to translate technical insights into business value
• Proactive, curious, structured, and able to work both independently and collaboratively
• Strong communication skills (written and oral)
• Fluent in English (mandatory); additional languages are a plus
• A tri-partite internship agreement is mandatory.
