Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: Genf

We're hiring a Market Risk IT Specialist. You'll own the technical delivery and support of the systems that price, measure, and report the organization's market risk exposure, from VaR and stress-testing engines to market data feeds and regulatory reporting pipelines.

This is the right role for someone who moves fluently between risk methodology and system architecture, comfortable translating regulatory and business requirements into resilient, well-tested technical builds, and equally comfortable troubleshooting a production issue during a time-critical overnight run.

  • Support, configure, and enhance market risk systems and platforms (e.g. Murex MX.3, Calypso, Adenza/Risk Metrics, or equivalent), including VaR, Expected Shortfall, sensitivities, PnL explain, and stress-testing modules
  • Partner with market risk managers, quants, traders, and front-office IT to translate risk methodology and regulatory requirements (Basel, FRTB) into technical specifications and system configuration
  • Manage the integration and quality of market data feeds (rate curves, volatility surfaces, credit spreads) feeding risk calculation engines
  • Ensure the performance, scalability, and data integrity of risk calculation databases and overnight batch processing pipelines
  • Lead or support system upgrades, patches, and migrations, including regression testing and UAT/SIT coordination with business stakeholders
  • Build and maintain dashboards, exception reports, and workflow tools that improve risk transparency and operational efficiency
  • Troubleshoot production issues affecting daily risk calculation and reporting cycles, ensuring timely resolution and root-cause analysis
  • Maintain technical documentation, system architecture records, and change logs to support audit and regulatory requirements
  • Support regulatory change programs (e.g. FRTB implementation) end-to-end, from requirements through go-live
  • 4+ years in a market risk technology, risk IT, or quantitative systems role within a bank, asset manager, or financial services technology provider
  • Hands‑on experience supporting or implementing a market risk platform (Murex, Calypso, Adenza, Risk Metrics, or equivalent)
  • Experience working through a regulatory change program (e.g. FRTB, Basel III/IV) from a technology delivery perspective
  • Comfortable working across risk, technology, and front-office stakeholders in a fast‑paced, high‑stakes environment
  • Strong SQL and relational database skills, with experience managing large risk calculation datasets
  • Familiarity with market risk methodologies:
VaR, Expected Shortfall, sensitivities/Greeks, stress testing, and PnL explain
  • Working knowledge of a major market risk/trading platform (Murex MX.3, Calypso, or Adenza) at a configuration or integration level
  • Scripting/programming skills (Python, Shell, or similar) for automation, data validation, and reporting
  • Understanding of market data infrastructure and vendor feeds (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, or equivalent)
  • Exposure to batch processing infrastructure and job scheduling tools (e.g. Autosys, Control‑M) in a production risk environment
  • Comfortable operating in a live production environment with tight, time‑critical daily cycles (overnight risk runs, T+1 reporting deadlines)
  • Structured troubleshooter, able to work under pressure during incidents without losing rigor
  • Strong cross‑functional communicator, able to translate between risk, technology, and regulatory stakeholders
  • Agile/change‑management delivery discipline, comfortable with formal testing and release processes (UAT/SIT/production releases)
  • University degree in computer science, engineering, finance, mathematics, or a related quantitative field
  • Eligibility to work in Switzerland
