Open Shift Migration Lead

Geneva - Hybrid

We are seeking an experienced Open Shift Migration Lead to drive the migration of enterprise applications and infrastructure from VMware-based environments to Red Hat Open Shift platforms. The candidate will be responsible for assessment, architecture design, migration planning, execution, automation, and operational transition of workloads to containerized platforms. The role requires strong expertise in VMware virtualization, Kubernetes/Open Shift, infrastructure modernization, Dev Ops, automation, and stakeholder management.

• Assessment & Strategy Assess VMware-hosted applications, infrastructure, and dependencies for Open Shift suitability. Define migration approaches including Rehost, Refactor, Replatform, or Containerization. Conduct workload discovery and application rationalization.
• Architecture & Design Define cluster sizing, networking, security, storage, and HA/DR requirements. Design CI/CD integration and Git Ops frameworks. Establish container platform governance and standards.
• Migration Execution Lead migration of workloads from VMware vSphere environments to Open Shift. Containerize legacy and modern applications. Coordinate infrastructure, application, database, security, and network teams.
• Automation & Dev Ops Develop  Infrastructure as Code using:
  Ansible Terraform Open Shift Operators Automate deployment, patching, and operational processes. Integrate Open Shift with enterprise monitoring and logging platforms.
• Security & Compliance Ensure compliance with organizational security standards. Implement RBAC, SCCs, Network Policies, Secrets Management, and image security scanning. Support regulatory requirements and audit activities.
• Operations & Governance Establish Open Shift operational support model. Define SLAs, KPIs, operational runbooks, and SOPs. Provide governance reporting and executive-level updates. Mentor operations and platform engineering teams.

• VMware VMware vSphere ESXi vCenter NSX vSAN VMware Automation
• Container Platforms Red Hat Open Shift Kubernetes Docker / Podman Linux RHEL Linux administration and troubleshooting
• Automation Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) Terraform Git Ops Shell/Python scripting
• Dev Ops Jenkins Git Hub Git Lab CI/CD pipelines

• Experience in Infrastructure Engineering or Platform Engineering.
• Experience in implementing or supporting Open Shift/Kubernetes platforms.
• Experience migrating enterprise workloads to container platforms.
• Experience working in highly regulated environments such as Banking, Financial Services

• Red Hat Certified Specialist in Open Shift
• Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA)
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
• VMware VCP Hashi Corp Terraform Certification
