THE ROLEWe are looking for an ambitious and hands-on Logistics AI & Automation Intern to join our Global Logistics organisation in Geneva. This is a six-month assignment for an engineer who is excited to turn operational challenges into practical solutions using data, AI and automation.
You will support the delivery of three focused projects, owning defined work streams while working with logistics, distribution centres, 3PLs, customer service and digital stakeholders. The emphasis will be on rapid learning, strong problem solving and practical business impact rather than purely theoretical analysis.
YOUR OBJECTIVESupport and contribute to the delivery of three AI and automation projects designed to create impact in two priority areas:
- Service improvement: correlate customer insights with logistics operations and in-process measures to identify root causes, anticipate service risks and improve the customer experience.
- Cost efficiency: improve understanding of distribution centre operations and 3PL contracts, helping to identify opportunities that could support future cost savings.
- Help shape project scope, measures, data needs and delivery plans.
- Connect with business users to understand priorities, requirements, constraints.
- Collect, clean and connect data from relevant logistics, customer and operational sources.
- Explore AI, analytics and automation ideas and turn them into simple prototypes or solutions.
- Analyse links between customer feedback, service outcomes and operational KPIs.
- Test solutions with users, gather feedback and refine the approach.
- Create simple documentation, dashboards and training materials to support adoption and handover.
- Share progress and insights with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Three focused projects progressed through framing, analysis, pilot or implementation.
- Service improvement opportunities supported by connected customer and operational insights.
- A pipeline of AI & Automation opportunities to improve service, customer experience or reduce cost.
- Solutions and documentation that can be sustained, scaled or further developed after the internship.
- Studying, or recently completed, engineering or a related quantitative field.
- Comfortable working with data, spotting patterns and summarising findings.
- Interest in AI, automation, supply chain, logistics or warehouse operations.
- Structured, curious and able to test ideas quickly.
- Confident communicator who enjoys working with different teams.
- Strong written and spoken English; an additional language is an advantage.
- Proactive and service-minded, with a willingness to learn.
- Coding or scripting experience preferred but not critical (e.g. Python, SQL, VBA)
- Experience contributing to real logistics challenges…
