Position: National Consultant (Communication Expert Radio) - EU OACPS Business Friendly Project in Liberia
Location: Genf

Organizational context:
The International Trade Centre (ITC) is a joint agency of the UN and WTO, focusing on trade-related technical cooperation in developing countries. This role is within the Sector Competitiveness Unit, supporting the EU-funded "Support to Business Friendly and Inclusive National and Regional Policies and Strengthening Productive Capabilities and Value Chains" Programme in ACP countries, specifically focusing on agriculture and agri-business value chains in Liberia.

Job purpose:

The purpose of this role is to ensure the visibility and impact of EU/ACP-funded programs within the Liberian coffee sector through targeted radio communications and outreach. The consultant will increase awareness of ITC's initiatives, educate farmers on best practices and market opportunities, and inform public authorities and decision-makers about sector reforms. This position levers radio media to highlight project developments, foster understanding of the coffee sector's economic and cultural importance, and ultimately contribute to strengthening productive capabilities and value chains.

Responsibilities:
The consultant will be responsible for developing and implementing radio communication strategies to enhance program visibility. Key duties include conducting interactive radio sessions and producing testimonials, co-hosting weekly radio programs on coffee cultivation and trade, and implementing public awareness campaigns to promote coffee consumption. The role involves creating and disseminating informative content on the coffee sector, managing a monthly work plan, and providing progress reports.

Additionally, the consultant will collaborate with experts and trainers to deliver practical knowledge to farmers and stakeholders, and ensure all activities align with project objectives and quality standards.

Education:

An undergraduate university degree in communication, social sciences, business administration, economics, or a related field is required. Practical audio-visual training is an asset. Extensive relevant experience may substitute for a degree.

Work experience:

A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in radio communication for agri-business projects is required. Strong hands‑on experience in implementing EU-funded projects and experience working with international organizations or national development agencies are also necessary.

Skills:

Expertise in media production and live broadcasting; strong content development, storytelling, and editorial skills; excellent interviewing and communication abilities; strong digital and multimedia skills including video editing and social media management; ability to develop engaging content for diverse audiences; strong interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder collaboration.
