Job Title: Associate Scientist, New Ingredient Discovery, S&R (81852)
Join our New Ingredients Discovery team as an Associate Scientist, where you will accelerate the design and development of sustainable fragrance ingredients. You will collaborate closely with chemists, data scientists, and automation specialists to push forward our scientific and technological capabilities. Your primary objective will be to analyze data and leverage your chemical expertise to identify and synthesize novel perfumery ingredients from the vast olfactive chemical space, utilizing a diverse range of chemical tools and technologies.
Effective communication and collaboration with key scientific stakeholders will be essential.
- Planning and executing the synthesis of novel molecules for subsequent olfactory evaluation.
- Analyzing chemical reactions, including intermediates, by-products, and final products, using GC, MS, NMR, and other analytical techniques.
- Isolating and purifying intermediate and final products through extraction, distillation, crystallization, chromatography, and other separation techniques.
- Proactively identifying and troubleshooting technical issues, proposing effective solutions, and participating in the maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments.
- Maintaining accurate and detailed records of experimental progress and results in a laboratory notebook.
- Managing laboratory supplies, raw materials, and samples, and maintaining a clean and well‑organized workspace.
- Complying with HS&E procedures and proactively contributing to improving laboratory safety.
- Continuously improving by staying current with advances in catalysis, automation, and digital chemistry, bringing new ideas into the lab.
- Being part of an interdisciplinary science & research team of industry‑leading researchers with a state‑of‑the‑art equipped research facility.
- Work at the forefront of new technology implementation towards the discovery of new ingredients for perfumery & beauty.
- Work in continuous dialogue with colleagues in perfumery and process chemistry.

- A Master’s degree or equivalent industry experience in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Specialization or hands‑on experience in catalysis is a strong plus.
- A solid foundation in organic reaction mechanisms and catalytic methods.
- Experience generating, analyzing, and documenting high‑quality experimental data.
- A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively in cross‑functional scientific teams.
- Curiosity, adaptability, and a proactive attitude toward exploring new tools and technologies.
- Strong communication skills and fluency in English;
French proficiency is an advantage.
