The Intern will support the Tech Delivery team with geospatial research and analysis of schools, health centers and other infrastructure, examining their accessibility under climate emergencies (particularly floods). The focus will be on child‑facing facilities and digital connectivity for the Global South. In addition, the Intern will help write the scientific methodology and results.
Qualifications- Current or recent (graduated in the last 2 years) enrollment in an advanced university programme (Master’s or equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, Climate Risk, or related discipline.
- Ability to work 40 hrs/week in‑person in Geneva.
- Knowledge of relevant climate and geospatial data sources and how to process them.
- Expertise in Python.
- PhD studies and publication(s) in an international journal on a closely related topic considered an advantage.
- Fluency in English (Spanish knowledge is an asset).
- Effective communication skills—able to present complex technical concepts clearly, verbally and in writing, and listen to others’ perspectives.
- Flexibility to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and adapt to changing demands.
- Strong attention to detail, solid writing, and organization skills.
- Commitment and drive for results.
Duration and Terms
The internship lasts 3 months beginning in September 2026, with some flexibility regarding the start date. Interns receive a monthly net stipend of USD 1700.00 for full‑time arrangements (40 hrs/week), prorated according to attendance, within the regulations of the duty station. Interns may take up to 2.5 days per month off work for any reason, including medical reasons.
