• The International Organization for Migration (IOM) was established in 1951, and its mission is to help ensure the orderly and humane management of migration, to promote international cooperation on migration issues, to assist in the search forpractical solutions to migration problems and to provide humanitarian assistance to migrants in need. IOM is committed tothe principle that humane and orderly migration benefits both migrants and society in general.
  
  As the United Nations Migration Agency, IOM works with its partners to assist in meeting thegrowing operational challenges of migration, advance understanding of migration issues, encourage social and economic development through migration, and uphold the wellbeing and human rights of migrants. The IOM constitution gives explicit recognition to thelink between migration and economic, social and cultural development, as well as to the principle of freedom of movement ofpersons.
  
  IOM has 174 Member States, eight countries holding
  
  Observer Status, and offices in more than 100 countries.
• Uganda became a member state of IOM in 1984, and the IOM Uganda office was opened in 1988. Its decades of operation in the country have been characterized by rapid growth of staff and scope of work- in light of aiding humane and orderly migration, sphere of influence, partnership networks and impact on various migration and mobility dimensions in the country. IOM Uganda emphasizes its extensive experience in empowering governments and communities toprevent, detect and respond to health threats along the mobility continuum, while advocating for migrant-inclusive approaches thatminimize stigma and discrimination.

• Under the overall supervision of the Programme Coordinator for Health Promotions, the successful candidate will provide support inthe coordination of IOM Uganda''s border health mobility response inthe context of the ongoing Ebola outbreak.

• Monitor and report Key Performance Indicators(KPIs):consolidate and submit daily KPI reports from IOM supported Pointsof Entry (PoEs) in the West Nile (e.g., number of screenings, newalerts reported, referrals, contact tracing metrics).
• Site assessments and supervision: conduct regular site assessments and supportive supervision of PoE screening teams and Community-Based Disease Surveillance activities(CBDS) :produceshort supervisory reports with actionable recommendations.
• Coordination & representation: proactively attend districttaskforce and Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) meetings; representIOM in cross-border coordination forums and relay outcomes to IOMmanagement.
• Cross border engagement: support and participate in trilateralcross border meetings; help harmonize Standard Operating Procedures(SOPs), designate focal points, and operationalize agreed actions.
• Capacity strengthening: support on the job mentoring for MoHscreeners, data clerks, VHTs and district teams on screeningprotocols, locator forms and reporting workflows.
• Logistics & surge support liaison: identify operationalgaps (equipment, fuel, ambulances) and coordinate requests with IOMlogistics/procurement to support rapid resolution.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Nationality: Candidate must be a national, legal residentor hold refugee status in the country of assignment.

• Bachelor''s degree in nursing, medicine, health sciences,community or public health or a related field from an accreditedacademic institution with two years of relevant professional experience
