Full-Stack Web Developer; IR-ECO-PRDGRAE

CERN has an opening for an Early Career Graduate (Origin) as a Full-Stack Developer in the Web Team part of the Media and Digital Communications (PRD) section in the Education Communication and Outreach (ECO) group in the Stakeholders Relations (SR) sector.

You will gain lots of experience by having the unique opportunity to work in a multinational multi-discipline and diverse environment. Developing web applications using some of the most popular and modern tools and programming languages. The main prerequisite is a desire to learn and an enthusiasm to work as part of the Web Team.

• Share the Web Teams work and take part in the design and development sprints for the CERN core websites web tools and web applications in a role combining full-stack development and website management.
• Develop and maintain the CERN Word Press Distribution (themes plugins APIs etc.).
• Manage and support CERNs Word Press websites.
• Collaborate with designers to create intuitive user-friendly interfaces.
• Participate in the support of the CERN Word Press Community.

• Content management system development (e.g. Word Press) developing and maintaining static and dynamic content rendering and modern development practices or modern wordpress development.
• Modern front-end frameworks (e.g. React ).
• Version control (Git) and modern development workflows.
• Configuration management: building/maintaining configuration templates and parameters (Open Shift and Open Stack).

• Database management systems (MySQL/Postgre
  
  SQL) and data migration techniques.
• Automated testing frameworks and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Container-based technologies (e.g. Docker) and deployment workflows.
• Spoken and written English with a commitment to learn French.

• You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
• By the Final date to receive applications you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Computer Science Software Enginineering (or a related field)
  and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelors or Masters degree
  .
• You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
• Applicants without University degree are not eligible.
• Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.

Contract duration: 24 months with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.
