Artificial Intelligence Engineer

Your Role

As AI Engineer at Bank J. Safra Sarasin within our newly established AI Center of Excellence (CoE), you will serve as a technical architect and contribute to build our private banking AI ecosystem. You will bridge the gap between high‑level AI strategy and production‑grade implementation, designing the core frameworks that power our Generative AI and Agentic initiatives.

• Design and implement complex AI workflows using state‑of‑the‑art orchestration frameworks such as LiteLLM, n8n, Lang Chain, Lang Graph, and CrewAI to support stateful, multi‑turn interactions.
• Manage the integration of multi‑model environments into enterprise ecosystems, optimizing for latency, cost, and token usage.
• Architect high‑performance Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines using vector databases like pgvector, or Azure AI Search to enhance model accuracy with proprietary banking data.
• Implement a security‑first design for AI infrastructure, ensuring data residency, privacy compliance, and secure on‑premises or private cloud LLM deployments.
• Lead the development of production‑grade AI agents for task automation, such as auto‑healing code agents or intelligent document search assistants.
• Define Dev Ops and MLOps standards, CI/CD pipelines for AI models, and automated testing frameworks to ensure the reliability of AI in production.

• University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in software development and architecture, with a significant track record of delivering AI/ML solutions in complex, regulated environments (Finance, Insurance, or Healthcare).
• Expert‑level knowledge of LLM integration, prompt engineering, and fine‑tuning.
• Highly proficient in Python, Java (Spring Boot), and/or Node.js.
• Extensive experience with Cloud‑native design (AWS/GCP/Azure), Docker, Kubernetes, and Serverless architectures.
• Strong understanding of data architecture, including SQL, No

• Familiarity with OT/IT security, IAM/PAM architecture, and secure data‑sharing governance.
• Fluency in English; other languages are an advantage.
