Java Technical Architect

Your Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical vision and target architecture of the Fees platform.
• Design, develop and evolve high-performance Java and API-based solutions.
• Lead architectural decisions, technical reviews and engineering standards.
• Contribute hands-on to key developments and strategic initiatives.
• Coach and mentor engineers while promoting engineering excellence.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Business Analysts and Architects to align technology with business goals.
• Drive platform modernisation, technical debt reduction and continuous improvement.
• Promote Dev Ops, CI/CD and software engineering best practices.
• Ensure security, resiliency, scalability and operational readiness of solutions.
• Support complex production issues and lead root cause analyses.
• Maintain architecture documentation and technical roadmaps.

• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience as a Technical Lead, Technical Architect or Senior Software Engineer.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring and API-driven architectures.
• Proven experience designing and evolving enterprise-grade software architectures.
• Experience in complex, business-critical environments, ideally within financial services.
• Good knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum), CI/CD, Git, Maven and modern engineering practices.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker and containerised deployments.
• Experience with Kafka, MQSeries or similar messaging technologies.
• Strong SQL and relational database knowledge.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated leadership, coaching and mentoring experience.
• Autonomous, pragmatic and ownership-driven mindset.
