App Developer

You will build mobile products that people use in the street, on bad connections, with real money attached — and you will take them through store review.

Five lines, all of them real. This is the work as it arrives, not a wish list written to attract applications — and if one of them is the reason you would not take the job, it is better that it is on this page.

• 01 Build iOS and Android apps, native or cross-platform
• 02 Design for offline and poor-network states rather than assuming bandwidth
• 03 Integrate APIs, payments and push
• 04 Take releases through App Store and Play Store review
• 05 Profile performance and battery on real devices

where you would sit
· 03 desks

The studio runs from Geneva, London and Lahore. Which desk a seat belongs to changes what your week looks like, so the page says it rather than leaving it to the interview.

There is no desk to turn up at and no expectation that you find one. What the studio asks instead is that the work is legible without you in the room: decisions written down, review in the open, and a repository somebody else could pick up on a Monday morning. The studios themselves are in Geneva, London and Lahore.

the other seat

You will build the platforms clients run their businesses on — the product surface, the admin behind it, and the integrations that keep both fed.

If you are not certain you are the right shape for this seat, write anyway and say what you would rather be doing. We would rather read that than nothing.
