Role  The  Customs Team Lead  is responsible for managing the overall operations and establishing effective and successful management of labor, productivity, quality control and safety measures as established and set for the Operations Department.
In this role, you will be running customs operations within the Automotive vertical, setting up a high performing team, improving processes and implementing tools and applications to increase customer satisfaction with a successful management of productivity and in respect of a high standard level of compliance. You will be responsible for several direct reports in line with business needs.
Key responsibilities   Control customs processes ensuring safe, quality, and efficient operations in line with company policies
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with group’s policies and applicable laws
Be involved in project leadership and resourcing in collaboration with local management
Oversee workload and tasks assigned to employees; clarify expectations of roles, lead performance evaluations and address corrective action plans
Oversee needs for additional resources including participation in recruitment, on-boarding and training
Ensure correct use of resources to pursue company goals
Manage escalations and handle potential claims until resolution
Coordinate with Risk & Compliance to handle processes and communication with relevant authorities
Prepare and communicate relevant information for employees under your area of responsibilities
Business trips might be required
Who we are looking for   Deep understanding of local market and regulations
Comprehensive knowledge of the logistics landscape
Experience in managing people in a complex environment (engagement, motivation, rewards), and experience in Customs operations
Strong customer-facing and interaction skills with a high level of customer orientation
Strong and proven teamwork attitude
Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and results-oriented
Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate at all organizational levels with a focus on collaboration and network behavior; we work in English and Italian
