RINA is currently recruiting for a Sustainability Consultant to join its office in Genoa within the Sustainability and Business Innovation Division.
Mission
The candidate will join the Technical Discipline “ESG, Sustainability & Climate Risk” at RINA Consulting, delivering technical services on a global scale. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with clients across industry, research and development, and the financial sector—supporting efforts to improve the sustainability rating of a company, mitigate climate change risks, and improve climate resilience of the assets by implementing effective adaptation strategies.
Key Accountabilities

Lead projects across a range of sustainability and climate-related domains, with special focus on Energy Efficiency Audits and ISO 50001 Implementation, GHG Accounting & Reporting, Decarbonisation Studies and GHG Target Setting, Carbon Footprint of Products and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Climate Change Risk & Vulnerability Assessments, Climate Adaptation Planning, and leading and implementing Research & Development activities for ESG and climate‑risk‑related projects funded by the EU under the Horizon Europe 2021–2027 programme.
Contribute to the preparation of high‑quality technical and financial proposals for ESG, Sustainability & Climate Risk related topics.
Manage multiple priorities and complex projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high‑quality outcomes.
Collaborate with team members to share knowledge and support the achievement of the Discipline team objectives.
Stay current with industry trends, regulatory developments, and best practices in sustainability, with deep expertise in climate change, ESG principles, and sustainability reporting frameworks.

Education

Master’s Degree in Energy Engineering or Engineering General
MBA/Post Graduate Degree in Environmental Engineering

Qualifications

Postgraduate studies focused on sustainability or the climate‑energy transition are considered a strong asset.
At least 3 years of solid experience in one or more sustainability‑related domains listed above.
Familiarity with relevant frameworks and regulations such as GRI, ESRS, EU Taxonomy, SBTi.
EGE (Esperto in Gestione dell’Energia) Certification according to UNI CEI 11339 is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Italian (C1 level); proficiency in additional languages (e.g., French, Spanish) is a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Demonstrated passion for driving environmental and social impact through business practices.
Self‑motivated and eager to learn, with a proactive attitude and the ability to stay current with evolving developments in the field.
