Description:
Pre-Contract (Tender Stage)
- Assist with preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs) from architectural and engineering drawings.
- Compile tender documents, request and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Assist with cost estimating, preliminary costing, and feasibility analysis.
- Participate in tender evaluations and preparation of tender submissions.
- Conduct site measurements and verify completed work against drawings and specifications.
- Assist with preparing interim and final payment certificates.
- Support with variation orders, claims, and re-measurement.
- Monitor project expenditures and compare actual costs vs budget.
- Update cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Assist with contract administration under JBCC / NEC / FIDIC or other construction contracts.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including measurement sheets, correspondence, and commercial files.
- Liaise with site management, engineers, contractors, and suppliers.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
- 1–3 years experience in the construction industry (building, civil, residential or commercial).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and exposure to QS software (WinQS, CCS Candy, CostX, or similar).
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Valid driver’s license and own transport (advantageous for site visits).
- Professional, reliable, and eager to grow within the construction QS field.
