Senior Quantity Surveyor

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage costs and contracts for construction projects based in George and surrounding areas. This role is central to ensuring the financial success of projects, from initial budgeting and cost estimation through to final account settlement. You will be responsible for advising on contractual matters, managing variations, and mitigating financial risks.

The successful candidate will join a respected firm known for its commitment to excellence in the Western Cape construction sector, contributing significantly to project profitability and client satisfaction.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for construction projects.
• Manage and monitor project expenditures, including valuing work done and processing payments.
• Administer construction contracts, including managing claims, variations, and disputes.
• Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to achieve cost-effective agreements.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for potential projects in the George area.
• Provide expert advice on procurement strategies and contractual issues to project stakeholders.

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a strong track record in construction cost management .
• Proficiency in relevant cost estimating software and contract administration principles.
• Excellent understanding of building contracts (e.g., JBCC, NEC).
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
