Our client is seeking an innovative and experienced Lead Architectural Designer to spearhead design initiatives from their office in George . This senior position offers the opportunity to shape the aesthetic and functional direction of significant projects across various sectors. You will lead design teams, conceptualize creative solutions, and ensure the successful translation of client visions into tangible architectural outcomes. The role demands a strong portfolio, exceptional design intuition, and the ability to manage design processes from inception through to planning application and construction detail, fostering a collaborative and inspiring design culture within the practice.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the conceptual design process for new projects, developing innovative and contextually appropriate architectural solutions.
- Manage and mentor a team of architectural designers and technologists, fostering a culture of design excellence.
- Prepare and present design proposals, sketches, renderings, and models to clients and stakeholders in the Western Cape .
- Oversee the development of detailed design documentation, ensuring alignment with project briefs and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct thorough site analysis and programming to inform design decisions.
- Stay abreast of emerging design trends, materials, and technologies to maintain the firm's competitive edge.
- Master's degree in Architecture or equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in architectural design, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
- An outstanding portfolio showcasing a diverse range of high-quality design work.
- Expert proficiency in Rhino, Sketch Up, V-Ray , and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong understanding of sustainability principles and their application in design.
- Excellent client management and communication skills.
