Architectural Technologist - Healthcare Projects

This role is crucial for translating complex healthcare design requirements into technically sound and buildable architectural solutions. You will work closely with architects and healthcare specialists to develop detailed drawings, specifications, and construction documentation for hospitals, clinics, and related medical facilities.

• Produce detailed architectural drawings, including plans, sections, elevations, and complex construction details for healthcare projects.
• Assist in the development and coordination of BIM models using Revit.
• Prepare technical specifications and schedules for materials, finishes, and equipment.
• Coordinate architectural designs with MEP engineers, structural engineers, and other specialist consultants in the healthcare sector.
• Ensure compliance with South African National Standards (SANS) and specific healthcare building regulations and guidelines.
• Conduct site inspections and assist in resolving technical queries during the construction phase.
• Manage project documentation and ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Research and specify appropriate materials and technologies suitable for healthcare environments.
• Collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and project managers.
• Stay updated on best practices and innovations in healthcare facility design and technology.

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Architectural Technology or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Architectural Technologist.
• Proven experience working on healthcare or institutional projects is essential.
• High proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of building codes, SANS, and healthcare-specific design requirements.
• Excellent technical detailing skills and knowledge of construction methods.
• Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality technical documentation.
• Familiarity with the local building context in George, Western Cape is beneficial.
