About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Primary School Afrikaans Teacher to join their dedicated faculty in George . This role involves fostering a love for the Afrikaans language and culture in young learners, developing their literacy and communication skills. You will create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment where students feel empowered to explore and express themselves in Afrikaans.

The successful candidate will collaborate with fellow educators to ensure a comprehensive and engaging curriculum, contributing to the school's commitment to academic excellence and holistic child development within the vibrant community of the Western Cape .

• Plan and deliver engaging Afrikaans lessons to primary school students, adhering to the national curriculum framework.
• Develop students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in Afrikaans through interactive activities.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages language acquisition and cultural appreciation.
• Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, providing constructive feedback to students and parents.
• Collaborate with the wider teaching team to develop cross-curricular links and school-wide educational initiatives.

• Bachelor's degree in Education or equivalent qualification.
• Certified Teacher Status with a specialization in Foundation Phase or Intermediate Phase teaching.
• Proficiency in teaching Afrikaans as a first or second language.
• Experience in primary school teaching, demonstrating an understanding of child development.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire young learners.
