Geotechnical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Geotechnical Engineer to join their esteemed firm in George . This role is crucial for assessing ground conditions and providing expert advice on foundation design, slope stability, and earthworks for a wide range of construction projects in the scenic Western Cape . You will play a key part in ensuring the safety and integrity of structures by applying advanced geotechnical principles and analysis techniques.

• Conduct site investigations, including drilling, sampling, and in-situ testing.
• Analyze soil and rock mechanics data to determine engineering properties.
• Design foundations, retaining walls, and slope stabilization measures.
• Prepare detailed geotechnical reports and provide recommendations for construction.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and other consultants to discuss project requirements and findings.
• Oversee construction phase geotechnical aspects, ensuring adherence to design specifications.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in geotechnical investigations and design.
• Knowledge of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation engineering principles.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software for analysis and modeling.
• Experience with field investigation techniques and equipment.
• Strong report writing and communication skills.
