Lead Electrical Design Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Electrical Design Engineer to join their esteemed engineering department in George . This critical role involves leading the electrical design aspects of major infrastructure projects, from conceptualization through to final handover. You will be responsible for ensuring the technical integrity and efficiency of electrical designs, managing design teams, and liaising with clients and stakeholders.

• Lead the electrical design process for complex projects, ensuring adherence to budget, scope, and timeline constraints.
• Develop detailed electrical system designs, including power distribution, lighting, earthing, and protection systems.
• Review and approve design drawings, calculations, and specifications prepared by the engineering team.
• Conduct site inspections and feasibility studies to gather requirements and identify potential design challenges.
• Manage and mentor a team of electrical engineers and designers, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and client-specific requirements.

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Over 10 years of experience in electrical engineering design, with at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
• Demonstrated expertise in electrical system design for large-scale industrial or commercial facilities.
• Proficiency with advanced electrical design and analysis software (e.g., ETAP, DIgSILENT Power Factory).
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Pr. Eng. designation is mandatory.
