Our client, a reputable engineering firm based in George , is seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role focuses on the structural design and analysis of various commercial and industrial buildings. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, safety, and efficiency of structural systems from the initial design phase through to construction. The position demands a meticulous approach to design, a strong understanding of building codes, and the ability to collaborate effectively with architects and construction professionals.
You will contribute to the firm's reputation for excellence in structural engineering within the Western Cape region, working on a variety of exciting projects.
- Perform structural analysis and design for new building projects and renovations.
- Develop detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications using relevant software.
- Ensure designs comply with South African National Standards (SANS) and building regulations.
- Review construction methods and provide technical support to site teams.
- Collaborate with architects, project managers, and other consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct site visits for inspections and to resolve structural queries during construction.
- BEng or BSc Eng in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Registered Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) with ECSA.
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant structural engineering experience, with a focus on building structures.
- Demonstrated experience with structural analysis software (e.g., SAP
2000, ETABS, Revit Structure). - In-depth knowledge of material properties and construction techniques for concrete, steel, and masonry.
