Mechanical Engineer - HVAC Systems

About the Role Our client, a leading firm in building services and environmental solutions, is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer specializing in HVAC systems to join their team in George . This role is integral to the design, implementation, and management of advanced heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for a variety of commercial and industrial projects. You will be responsible for creating system designs, performing load calculations, selecting equipment, and ensuring optimal system performance, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort.

• Design and develop HVAC systems for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings, including air distribution, heating, cooling, and ventilation.
• Perform detailed load calculations and energy modeling using specialized software.
• Select appropriate HVAC equipment, including chillers, boilers, air handling units, and controls.
• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for HVAC systems.
• Collaborate with architects, electrical engineers, and other project stakeholders to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during construction and post-installation phases.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to HVAC system performance and maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, standards, and environmental regulations.
• Research and propose innovative HVAC technologies and energy-efficient solutions.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HVAC system design and project management.
• Proficiency in HVAC design software such as Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Carrier HAP, or Trane TRACE.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer principles as applied to HVAC.
• Knowledge of building codes, ASHRAE standards, and energy efficiency regulations.
• Experience with control systems and building management systems (BMS) is desirable.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage project timelines.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Pr.Eng. registration is a plus.
• Experience with sustainable building design (e.g., LEED) is advantageous.
