Lead Structural Engineer; Construction

They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Structural Engineer to join their dynamic team in George, Western Cape . • Lead the structural engineering design process for various construction projects, ensuring compliance with national and international standards.
• Perform complex structural analysis and calculations using advanced software (e.g., SAP
  2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro).
• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and reports for approval and construction.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of structural engineers and technicians.
• Collaborate closely with architects, project managers, contractors, and other consultants to achieve project objectives.
• Conduct site inspections and provide engineering support during the construction phase to ensure design integrity and quality.
• Review shop drawings and construction submittals from contractors for compliance with design intent.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure successful project delivery.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in structural engineering technology, materials, and best practices.

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in structural engineering design and project management.
• Proven experience in leading engineering teams and managing complex structural projects.
• Expertise in structural analysis software and CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit Structure).
• Thorough understanding of South African building regulations, SANS codes, and relevant international standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision‑making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients and project stakeholders.
• Experience with a variety of building types, including commercial, residential, and industrial structures.
