About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Remote Precision Agriculture Specialist to join their innovative agricultural technology division. This fully remote position allows you to leverage cutting-edge technologies from anywhere in the country, focusing on enhancing farm efficiency and sustainability through data-driven insights. You will work with farmers across various regions, including George , providing expert guidance on the implementation and utilization of precision farming tools.
This role is ideal for a tech-savvy agricultural professional who is passionate about using data to optimize crop production and resource management in a flexible, work-from-home setting.
- Design and implement precision agriculture strategies using GPS, GIS, remote sensing, and IoT devices.
- Analyze large datasets from sensors, drones, and farm equipment to identify trends and recommend optimizations.
- Provide remote technical support and training to farmers on adopting precision farming technologies.
- Develop variable rate application maps for fertilizers, seeds, and crop protection products.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to test and integrate new precision agriculture tools and software.
- Prepare detailed reports on farm performance, resource utilization, and ROI for precision initiatives.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, Geomatics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in precision agriculture or a closely related discipline.
- Proficiency with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and data analysis tools.
- Experience with farm management software and sensor technologies.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills, capable of providing remote consultation.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote environment.
