Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly creative and analytical E-commerce UX Designer to join our digital product team in George. This role is critical in shaping how millions of users interact with our mobile and web platforms.
You will be responsible for designing intuitive, accessible, and high-converting user interfaces that drive engagement and simplify the shopping process. This is a vital role for anyone seeking employment in South Africa within the cutting-edge tech-retail sector.
The successful candidate will work closely with product managers, engineers, and marketing specialists to translate business requirements into seamless digital experiences.
You will conduct user research, create wireframes, and develop interactive prototypes that solve complex user problems.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive user research and usability testing to understand customer pain points.
- Create high-fidelity wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes for web and mobile applications.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure design feasibility and implementation accuracy.
- Develop and maintain a consistent design system to ensure brand cohesion across all digital touchpoints.
- Analyze user behavior data to iterate on designs and optimize conversion rates.
- Participate in design sprints and brainstorming sessions to ideate new feature sets.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
- Strong understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first methodologies.
- Deep knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) to ensure inclusive user experiences.
- Excellent communication skills to present design decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex user data and metrics.
A Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field is required. A portfolio demonstrating real-world application of UX principles is essential for this role.
ExperienceA minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience in UX/UI design, specifically within an e-commerce or high-traffic digital product environment. Proven track record of delivering user-centered solutions that improve business KPIs.
SalaryThe annual gross salary for this position ranges from SSP 450,000 to SSP 650,000, depending on experience and skill set. This is a competitive package designed to attract the best talent in the industry.
