About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Lead Computational Biologist to head their bioinformatics and computational research efforts in George . Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and implementation of computational pipelines for the analysis of large-scale biological data, including genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics.
  • Develop and apply advanced statistical and machine learning models to identify patterns, biomarkers, and therapeutic targets from complex datasets.
  • Collaborate closely with experimental biologists and clinicians to interpret results and guide research strategies in George .
  • Manage and mentor a team of computational biologists, overseeing project timelines and resource allocation.
  • Ensure the quality, reproducibility, and documentation of all computational analyses and software developed.
  • Present research findings to internal teams, external collaborators, and at scientific conferences.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in computational biology or bioinformatics, with at least 2 years in a team leadership capacity.
  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in bioinformatics, such as Python, R, Perl, or C++.
  • Extensive experience with biological databases, sequence alignment tools, and genome assembly software.
  • Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data visualization techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with non-computational scientists.
